NGC Qualifies for Canada’s Defense Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace

SHERBROOKE, Québec, Canada, [September 29th, 2026] – The Government of Canada launched the Defense Drone Initiative (DDI) to accelerate the development, testing, adaptation, and production of unmanned autonomous systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard.

Earlier this month, NGC qualified for all five streams of the program:

• Uncrewed and autonomous systems
• Communications and data systems
• Engineering and integration services
• Testing, evaluation and training
• Innovation and experimentation

This qualification highlights NGC’s commitment to contributing to Canada’s advanced aerial mobility initiative and to helping build a more responsive and scalable Canadian ecosystem. Canada possesses world-class expertise in the fields of aerospace and robotics, and NGC is proud to be among the innovative and ambitious companies also qualified for DDI.
